Hidden Secrets and Collectibles Guide

Crimson Desert is packed with hidden items, secret locations, and collectible sets that reward thorough exploration. Many of the game’s best gear pieces are not locked behind boss fights or quest rewards — they’re simply sitting in out-of-the-way places that most players walk right past.

This guide catalogs every known secret and collectible in the early and mid-game regions, organized by area.

How to Find Hidden Items

Before hunting for secrets, make sure you have the right tools:

Essential Exploration Skills and Items

Tool / SkillHow to GetWhat It Does
LanternStory-given (Prologue)Highlights nearby interactable objects
Blinding FlashKeen Senses treeBrief flash that reveals all hidden items in range
Mining KnuckledrillDefeat Marni’s Excavatron or Bleed BanditsRequired to mine ore nodes

Rope ArrowArchery skill treeReaches distant platforms and pullable objects

Tip: The Lantern is your most important exploration tool. Use it frequently — especially in caves, ruins, and basements. It highlights items that are otherwise invisible.

Visual Clues for Hidden Items

Watch for these environmental hints:

  1. Glowing cracks in walls — breakable walls hiding secret rooms
  2. Discolored floor tiles — pressure plates or hidden switches
  3. Unusual rock formations — often hide loot underneath (use Mining Knuckledrill)
  4. Birds circling overhead — indicates a point of interest below
  5. Sound cues — faint humming or chimes near Abyss Artifacts

Tips for Completionists

  1. Use the Lantern constantly — it costs nothing and reveals hidden items
  2. Visit every Sanctum — they’re short and always worth the loot
  3. Check behind waterfalls — a recurring hiding spot for loot throughout the game
  4. Return to regions after story progression — new areas and items unlock as you advance
  5. Talk to NPCs multiple times — some reveal hidden item locations only after certain story triggers
  6. Mine every ore node — even common ores sell for Silver, and rare drops include Moonstones
  7. Play at night sometimes — certain collectibles and rare enemies only appear after dark
  8. Listen for audio cues — the game uses sound to guide you toward nearby secrets

Final note: Crimson Desert rewards curiosity above all else. If something looks unusual — a cracked wall, an out-of-place object, a faint glow — investigate it. The developers have hidden hundreds of items throughout Pywel, and finding them is half the adventure.
